It's Launch Day! | Amelia Catherine & Co. | A Bespoke Creative Company Celebrating Marriage & Merriment

I'm so excited to finally share with you the brand new Amelia Catherine & Co. website and blog! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give you a little more insight into me and my little business. I'm Amelia Patterson, designer and photographer, mama to two sweet boys and wife to one ruggedly handsome man. I try not to take life too seriously (case in point by a few of the photos down below), I own more hats than I can keep count, I have a slight magazine addiction, I'd probably choose hot tea over coffee most days, and I secretly feel I'm part of the Crawley family from Downton Abbey. Or maybe it's not really a secret after all! Joanna Gaines is my spirit animal and I believe the prettiest thing you can wear is a smile!

I'm originally from the Memphis area and now reside in the little town of Florence, MS. When I started my business in 2010 I was a recent graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Interior Design and expecting my first bundle of joy so being able to stay at home was an absolute blessing! Back then I operated under the name Studio MJW and since then my personal style and aesthetic has changed, my business has grown and blossomed, and I wanted my brand to reflect that so hence the rebrand to Amelia Catherine & Co. Why the "Company"? Well, simply, because I am an artist and can do so much more than just photography. I never wanted to use the word "photography" in my business name because I didn't want to be held back by that label and be limited to what I could do. I received quite a bit of flak and push back when I first started asking industry peers for their opinions on my rebrand and "expanding" so to speak but the heart wants what it wants and I feel there is an exception to every rule. They say to not "do everything" and "find your niche" and while I may not be doing one thing I believe this is my niche. I was meant to meet certain people in order to create beautiful moments for them and to document a special season in their life but then to stay in their life and create more beautiful things with them. I am happiest when I'm creating and using the talents the good Lord has given me. Why should I limit that to one "category"? I love to decorate and design, flowers are my love language, cooking and baking and party planning make my heart go pitter patter. And then you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to whip out my camera and take a photo of every little detail! So what can you expect to find on this blog? LOTS of beautiful photos and inspiration for your every day life from weddings and lifestyle photo shoots, to design ideas and recipes, and definitely joy and words of encouragement!
