Tomorrow is my favorite day of the month! TuesdaysTogether!! Now, you’re probably asking yourself, what in the world is TuesdaysTogether?? Only the coolest group you could ever be a part of! No, but seriously… ;)
I am honored to be one of the co-leaders for our local Rising Tide Society chapter of TuesdaysTogether! The Rising Tide Society was formed only a few years ago by a couple photographers in Maryland and it has grown today to over 400 chapters worldwide! Talk about amazing growth!
So who is this RTS and what are TuesdaysTogether? Glad you asked! The Rising Tide Society (or RTS as well like to call it) is a “society of creative entrepreneurs who believe in community over competition and have a desire to lead with love. From this dream, TuesdaysTogether meetings were born. A meetup on the second Tuesday of every month where creatives + entrepreneurs gather together for coffee and conversation. An open space for idea sharing and goal building. Separated by distance, but beautifully united by a shared desire to empower the creative economy.”
I have been fortunate to lead our talented and creative group for three years now alongside my precious and sweet friend and fellow photographer, Katelyn Hambick, and it has been such a blessing! We usually meet on the second Tuesday of the month (unless it’s Spring Break of course!) and discuss a topic related to running a small business. We rotate on the time of day and locations to make it as accessible and practical to all our members as possible.
Some of our past meeting locations have been Elle James Bridal, The Prickly Hippie, Keifer’s, La Brioche, and various members’ shops and offices. You can bet there is usually food and/or coffee involved ha!
Some of our past topics have included, SEO & Web Presence, Email Marketing, Client Experience, Protecting Your Business, and the always favorite, TAXES!!
Sometimes we have a speaker who is an expert in the topic, sometimes we do activities together like practice our flat lay styling and photography, and sometime Katelyn and I offer headshots! It’s always fun, informative, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the friendships and partnerships that have blossomed from this group!
November is always our Philanthropy month when we come together to support a local charity or cause that is dear to our hearts. This past November we shopped for Christmas gifts for a local child through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. It was a blast!!
In December we try to rest, recharge, and treat ourselves! December 2018’s meeting consisted of yoga, brunch, and homemade sugar scrub! Alright!
